The best shoes for a child when they are starting to stand and walk are the ones that mimic bare feet. Soft-soled shoes are recommended by pediatricians and podiatrists for babies and toddlers to promote good balance, help develop strength and grasping action of little toes, and allow for wiggle room and growthScooter booties are made with cotton or brushed canvas uppers, and a faux suede sole. All booties are lined with cuddly faus sherpa fur for baby's sensitive feet and have an elastic ankle to ensure a snug fit. They are machine washable!
Made in the USA.
Measure the child's foot and add a 1/4-1/2 inch to accommodate growth.
(TIP: Have your child stand on a piece of paper and make a mark at the heel and longest toe, then measure in a straight line between the marks).
Scooter Booties was started in 2012 by Brittany (known as Britt) and began with her love for fabric and textiles.
She lives in downtown Fullerton, CA. While she lives in the city now, she was a country girl in her childhood. She was raised in a small town in the Sierra Nevada mountains where everyone knows everyone. While other kids were playing at the lake in summer or on sleds in the winter, she was inside crafting away! At the age of 8, she discovered sewing and the rest has developed from there. She is a lover of patterns, colors, and textiles, and she gets to play with them all, every day!
Some of her happiest days are spent shopping for fabric. The actual "baby show" part of her business came into play after she made a pair of booties and gave them to a friend during a baby shower. They were a huge hit. While the original pattern has been significantly tweaked, altered, and improved since then, it was a fantastic starting point to the final product now being sold. And it's the foundation for any new styles that she dreams up and makes.
