Turning and stability note: A tricycle does not lean into a turn like a bicycle. Enter turns slowly, keep your body centered, and avoid abrupt steering. Cornering too quickly can lift the inside rear wheel and may cause the trike to tip. Extra caution is required on sloped pavement, uneven shoulders, driveway transitions, and surfaces that tilt sideways.

Learning note: Even experienced bicycle riders need time to adapt to a tricycle’s steering and cornering behavior. Begin in Beginner Mode in a large, flat, traffic-free area. Practice starting, stopping, wide turns, tighter turns, braking, and judging the rear-wheel width before riding near traffic or obstacles.

Width note: The rear wheels are substantially wider than the rider’s shoulders and handlebars. Allow additional clearance around posts, curbs, doorways, vehicles, path barriers, and other riders. Confirm that local paths, ramps, storage areas, and building entrances provide sufficient width.

Slope note: Avoid riding directly across steep side slopes whenever possible. A tricycle is most stable when traveling straight uphill or downhill rather than sideways across an incline.

Parking-brake note: Engage the parking brake before mounting, dismounting, loading cargo, or leaving the trike unattended. Come to a complete stop before stepping off.

Load-capacity note: Velotric lists a 500-pound maximum bike load that includes the rear-basket load. This does not mean 500 pounds can be placed in the basket. The rider, cargo, accessories, and basket contents must remain within the total limit and the lower rating of every installed component. Additional weight increases stopping distance and changes steering, stability, and range.

Cargo and pet note: Cargo should be centered, secured, and kept within the basket. Pets should be carried only in an appropriate secured carrier that prevents jumping or shifting and remains within all basket and total-load limits. Practice riding with added weight before entering traffic.

Transport note: Although the frame folds, the Triker still weighs approximately 85.8 pounds and remains considerably larger than a folded two-wheel bicycle. Transport may require two people, a ramp, and a large SUV, van, pickup, or tricycle-rated carrier. Confirm vehicle space and carrier capacity before purchase.

Class-setting note: E-bike classifications, throttle use, and permitted speeds vary by roadway, path, park, and jurisdiction. Configure the Triker appropriately for where it will be ridden.

Range note: Actual range varies with assistance level, throttle use, rider and cargo weight, terrain, wind, temperature, tire pressure, speed, and stop frequency. Heavy loads, hills, cold weather, frequent starts, and throttle use can reduce range substantially.
