A trail-ready 24-inch kids’ bike for growing riders who are ready for gears, hand brakes, and bigger adventures.
The Retrospec Dart Plus 24 combines kid-specific geometry with features commonly found on adult bikes. A Shimano 7-speed drivetrain helps riders manage hills and longer distances, while wide tires, front suspension, and mechanical disc brakes provide added comfort and control on neighborhood streets, bike paths, gravel, and light trails.
Best For
- Growing riders approximately 8 to 11 years old
- Neighborhood riding, bike paths, parks, and family rides
- Packed-dirt and gravel trails
- Kids learning to use multiple gears and front and rear hand brakes
- Riders ready for a more capable bike with adult-style components
Why We Like It
The Dart Plus offers a useful step up from a basic kids’ bike without becoming overly complicated. Its 7-speed Shimano drivetrain gives young riders enough range for changing terrain, and the twist shifter lets them change gears while keeping their hands securely on the handlebars.
We also like the combination of wide 2.30-inch tires, a 50mm suspension fork, and front and rear Tektro mechanical disc brakes. Together, these features make the bike comfortable and confidence-inspiring for riders beginning to explore beyond smooth neighborhood pavement.

Fit and Sizing
Age and height recommendations are useful starting points, but proper fit depends on the individual rider’s height, inseam, proportions, confidence, and riding ability. A young rider should be able to comfortably reach the handlebars and brake levers, stand over the frame, and control the bicycle while starting and stopping.
Whenever possible, we recommend bringing the rider to Kickstand Culture so we can check the fit and adjust the saddle and brake-lever reach.
Buy Local. Ride Supported.Your bike will be professionally assembled, inspected, and tuned by Kickstand Culture Bike Shop before pickup. We’ll help adjust the fit for the rider and review the operation of the gears and brakes.
A complimentary 30-Day Check-Up is included. Bring the bike back within 30 days of pickup so we can inspect it after its initial break-in period and make any appropriate adjustments.
