One-of-a-kind functional pottery handmade in our hometown East Aurora NY by Roycroft Artisan Bev Fehringer.
Bev Fehringer started doing pottery several years ago as a hobby. She is a self-taught potter that found fun and relaxation while throwing clay on the wheel. She eventually acquired a slab roller and expanded her style to slab work.
After discovering a hidden talent and a love for her craft, Bev began to sell her pieces at various craft shows and was received well by the public. Black Raven Pottery was born.
In 2014 a shop was built on Bev's property in Arcade, NY. The Arcade shop and studio were the beginning of a flourishing business. Bev continued to do shows and exhibits. She also began to teach private classes and various classes for the Tri-County Arts Council.
In 2018 Bev was accepted as a juried artist with the Roycroft Arts & Craftsmen Guild. An opportunity arose to become a Roycroft Artist-In-Residence on the historic campus in East Aurora and she moved her shop and studio to the town where she grew up. The studio and shop, located on the lower level of the Roycroft Antiques building was officially opened in late 2018.
Bev specializes in functional pottery that is dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe. Her pieces are useful in all areas of your home and will add a touch of fun or uniqueness to any room. She also makes fun, artistic, and decorative pieces.
