This clutch is made from up-cycled inner tubes, lined with fabric from recycled plastic bottles. It stays closed with high quality snaps and zippers. The artist has stitched each of them on a bicycle powered sewing machine. It’s as stylish as it is functional. You should be able to fit cash, cards, change, and whatever else life throws at you.
The interiors are lined with reinforced fabric made from recycled plastic bottles. They are colorful and durable. The inner tubes came from local bike shops and bicycle non profits. They have been washed and re-washed. The larger inner tubes came from a local tire shop. All the edges have been heat sealed to minimize any fraying. Each clutch is sewn with heavy #69 polyester black thread and matching interior thread.
Each clutch is unique and there will definitely be variation. But you do get to pick the dominant interior color.
Handmade in USA
Based in Pennsylvania, Ben built a bicycle-powered sewing machine from an old Schwinn (affectionately known as the Schwinger) to upcycle old bicycle inner tubes into new products - wallets, passport holders, and more. Through his company Cranktherapy, he also uses old bicycle rims and reclaimed wood to create beautiful clocks.
