The Aventon Ramblas ADV is a trail-oriented hardtail electric mountain bike built for riders who want genuine off-road capability with the climbing assistance of a mid-drive motor. Unlike recreational e-bikes that simply combine wide tires with front suspension, the Ramblas ADV uses mountain-bike geometry, 29-inch tubeless-ready wheels, a 130mm RockShox suspension fork, four-piston hydraulic brakes, a wide-range SRAM 12-speed drivetrain, and an included dropper seatpost. It is designed for singletrack, sustained climbing, gravel, technical trails, and mixed-surface adventure riding.

Best For

  • Singletrack, mountain-bike trail systems, gravel routes, and off-road recreation
  • Riders who want a legitimate hardtail electric mountain bike rather than a comfort-oriented all-terrain e-bike
  • Climbing-focused riders who benefit from the efficiency and natural response of a mid-drive motor
  • Experienced mountain bikers and developing trail riders who want capable components and modern trail geometry
  • Riders who want to extend their trail range or complete more climbing during a ride

Why We Like It at Kickstand Culture

The Ramblas ADV is built as a mountain bike first. Its rigid rear triangle provides efficient power transfer and direct handling, while the 130mm RockShox Psylo Silver fork manages impacts and trail chatter at the front. The centrally positioned motor applies assistance through the drivetrain, allowing it to use the selected gear efficiently when climbing steep or uneven terrain.

The SRAM NX 12-speed drivetrain, four-piston hydraulic brakes, 29-inch Maxxis tires, included dropper post, BOOST thru-axle wheelset, and tubeless-ready setup distinguish it from e-bikes intended primarily for pavement, rail trails, or casual dirt-road use. At approximately 54 pounds, it is also relatively light for a full-power electric mountain bike.

Key Features

  • Aventon A100 mid-drive motor: Applies assistance through the drivetrain for efficient climbing and responsive power delivery on changing terrain.
  • Up to 100Nm of torque: Provides substantial support for steep climbs, technical starts, and maintaining momentum on uneven surfaces.
  • Up to 750W peak output: Delivers additional assistance under demanding trail conditions while producing 250W of sustained power.
  • Double-sided torque sensor: Measures rider effort within the motor system for smooth, responsive, and controllable assistance.
  • AUTO mode: Adjusts motor support according to terrain, delivering more assistance on steep climbs and reducing output on flatter sections.
  • Ride Tune customization: Allows the ECO, TRAIL, and TURBO assistance modes to be adjusted to suit rider preference and terrain.
  • RockShox Psylo Silver fork: Uses 35mm stanchions and 130mm of travel to manage roots, rocks, trail chatter, and rough descents.
  • Hardtail frame: A rigid rear triangle offers efficient pedaling, straightforward maintenance, and direct handling.
  • SRAM NX 12-speed drivetrain: Provides a broad gearing range for steep climbing, technical terrain, and faster trail sections.
  • 10–50-tooth cassette: Offers a very low climbing gear for steep grades and off-road use.
  • SRAM DB6 four-piston hydraulic brakes: Provide strong, controlled braking with 200mm rotors at both wheels.
  • Manic LC dropper seatpost: Provides 150mm of travel and allows the saddle to be lowered from the handlebar for improved control on descents.
  • 29 x 2.4-inch Maxxis Rekon tires: Provide an effective combination of rolling efficiency, cornering traction, and trail capability.
  • Tubeless-ready wheels and tires: Allow conversion to a tubeless setup for lower operating pressures, improved traction, and greater protection from certain punctures.
  • BOOST thru-axle wheelset: Uses 15 x 110mm front and 12 x 148mm rear spacing for stiffness and precise wheel alignment.
  • Class 1 configuration: Provides pedal assistance without a throttle, making it appropriate for trails where Class 1 e-bikes are permitted.
  • Integrated lighting: Included lights improve visibility when riding to and from the trail or during lower-light conditions.
  • Step-over frame only: The Ramblas ADV is not offered in a step-through configuration.

Trail-access note: E-bike access rules vary by trail system, land manager, and jurisdiction. Confirm that Class 1 electric mountain bikes are permitted before riding a particular trail.

Hardtail note: The Ramblas ADV has front suspension but no rear suspension. This creates an efficient and responsive trail bike, but riders seeking greater control and comfort on repeated large impacts, aggressive descents, or highly technical terrain may prefer a full-suspension electric mountain bike.

Mid-drive shifting note: Reduce pedal pressure briefly while changing gears, especially during steep climbs. Shifting under full rider and motor load can accelerate wear or damage the chain, cassette, and derailleur.

Range note: Actual range varies considerably with assistance level, rider weight, elevation gain, trail surface, temperature, tire pressure, riding speed, and gear selection. Technical trail riding and sustained climbing generally produce substantially less range than ideal test conditions.

Assembly & Service

Every e-bike purchased from Kickstand Culture is professionally assembled, tuned, and test-checked by our service department before delivery. For the Ramblas ADV, this includes checking the motor and electrical system, adjusting the drivetrain and four-piston hydraulic brakes, setting suspension and tire pressure for the rider, testing the dropper post, inspecting trail-critical fasteners, and confirming that the bike is ready to ride.

Your purchase also includes a free 30-day check-up and adjustment to address normal break-in changes. We can also assist with rider fit, suspension setup, tubeless conversion, tire selection, drivetrain care, trail accessories, and configuring the bicycle for the type of terrain you plan to ride.
